Floral Delights from Janey's Digi Designs

Hi Everyone - I have the day off work today -yippee!  So I thought I'd celebrate with flowers - of the digital variety from Jane's Digi Designs.  These  flowers are Polyanthus which you can find here in Jane's Etsy Shop - not sure they come in pink but I do like pink flowers and the pink matched the K& Co papers that I wanted to use!  I promise that I will use a different colour next time!

I've coloured them with my Pro and Flexmarkers and then followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday for my layout so I'll be entering into their challenge.
The corner punch is from Whiff of Joy and the butterflies are Memory Box dies.

Enjoy your day whatever you're doing!

Sketch N Stash card and Janey's Digi Designs

We have a new challenge for you today over at Sketch N Stash - the sketch is below and we have an optional extra of using die cuts on your card.  And as our sponsor is Crafty Individuals, I've used one of their fabulous images - Just an Old Fashioned Girl.
I'm also delighted to show you this gorgeous dropwort digi image as designed by the fabulous Jane Clempson, she of the witty words and green fingers!  Jane has just started a new venture of floral digi images,  inspired by her love of gardening and you can find more details here on the design team blog
                         Janey's Digi Designs
Jane has also very kindly asked me to be on her design team and I couldn't be happier to oblige!   You can find the Dropwort image here in Jane's store.

Now I'm not so green fingered as Jane and I'm not sure if these flowers come in pink but they sure did look very similar to the Graphic 45 papers that I've used so have taken my colour inspiration from those.
For my die cuts, I've used a Tim Holtz On the Edge Butterfly die, a Cheery Lynn leaf flourish and a Go Create Tag for my sentiment.

We're thrilled at SNS that Crafty Individuals have agreed to sponsor Sketch N Stash this year, I love so many of their stamps and don't use the ones I have enough!

Look what the lucky entrant into this fortnight's challenge will win, this yummy haul below!

As always, my teamies have made some wonderful cards so check them out here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Passion For Promarkers DT Card

Morning!   Who's fed up with the snow yet!  Only took me two and a half hours to get to work yesterday!! I wonder what delights today's journey will have in store. Before I set off, I need to let you know about our new challenge at Passion for Promarkers where our theme this week has been chosen by the fabulous Coops - your Favourite Colour Combo.  For me that is always changing depending on which way the wind is blowing so I've chosen papers with lots of colours as I couldn't make up my mind!
I do love purple especially and I've tried to pick out the very pale lavender in the background flowers for my image.
The image is a gorgeous Day for Daisies image called Wind in Her Hair and it's a card for Best Matey, Lesley whose birthday is today - Happy Birthday!!!
The papers are from a new K and Co 12x12 pad that was a bargain and I love the papers!!
The bows are made with a Dienamics die which I love and the flowers are a PTI die which is so pretty!
We're being sponsored this week by BugaBoo stamps and the lucky winner will win 7 digi images -wow!

Don't forget to check out the cards made by my teamies at PFP- they are gorgeous!!

Right - must dash - there's some snow to conquer!!

The first Hop of 2013 for Mo's Dream Team and my turn to choose the theme - Mwoahhhhh!!

Yes, we're hopping at Mo's today and this is the start as I'm your host this month - welcome!! Now I'm not a vindictive person but after last month's theme of CAS which is not my forte at all, I've got my own back (sorry Jane!! Love you!!) and have chosen a theme of Embellishments - The More The Merrier!!
I've used the gorgeous Georgia as she looks like she the kind of girl to like lots of embellies!! My papers are Crate Paper and there's a few die cuts on there - Chloe Stem and Music note by Memory Box, leaf flourish by Cheery Lynn. There's a crochet music note charm, some flowers, some resin flowers, ribbon, button, string, and ric rac and finally a few pearls!  I think that covers all the food groups!!  Georgia looks delighted to be so adorned!!

Just for good measure I added in a load of layers too!

It's now time for you to move on to the next card in the blog hop which you will find over on the blog of the fabulous Debby - I just know she will have an awesome, beautifully ornate creation to share with you!
Have fun hopping and don't forget to leave a comment on each of my teamies' cards as there are a couple of $5 vouchers hidden somewhere on the hop - and you could be the lucky winner!

Sketch N Stash - card for my daughter's 18th

Hi there - sorry I'm late posting again - had a very busy weekend and as my laptop died I'm having to cadge some time on other PCs at home and work to comment and write my posts.
This card is for the new challenge at SNS - our first for 2013 and we've decided to make use of the fabulous back catalogue of sketches that SNS has and use them again, starting from the very beginning (a very good place to start!) with an optional theme each challenge just to switch things up a  bit.
So here is Sketch One and the optional theme is Vintage.

We also have some fab new sponsors this year the first one being Live and Love Crafts who are generously offering a £10 store voucher to the lucky winner!

My card was for my daughter, Emily's 18th birthday (last Thursday) and we had some lovely celebrations!  Great night out at White Bear in Warlingham on Saturday - haven't laughed so much in quite a while.  I've
used this fabulous image from Mo called Jo Painting (well I've renamed it Em Painting) as it is just perfect for  Emily as she loves her Art and is doing fantastically well in her final year of A Level.  Very similar to the image too, with long, long hair and as thin as a whippet!!
To fit in with our Vintage theme at SNS, I tried to muddy up the colours and and added some texture around the image with some Viva Pearl liquid.
My papers are a mix of DCWV and K&CO, both 12 x12n pads, one of which was from best matey, Lesley(and Em's godmother) for Christmas.  I've also used a couple of vintage diamante buckles and some tulle roses for more added vintageness.
Finally, the large flower I made by stamping with a Stampin Up script stamp onto tissue paper and then cutting it with a Spellbinders petal nesting set.

Check out the rest of my fab teamie's makes here over at the SNS Challenge and don't forget to tell us what is new and what is old from your stash.

Hoping the hubby has gone to buy me a new laptop today, I feel bereft without it and even the work arounds can't work around for very long!  He may then try and fix my old one (we think it's just the screen) and use it himself!
Hope you're not suffering too much from the snow here in the UK - it's bitterly cold in my office as the boiler has gone caput!!

New Basic Grey Challenge and a disaster!

First the disaster - my lap top has died!!  I'm in shock as everything is on there - having to write this up at work in case I can't get on the home PC.  Luckily I had already uploaded this card onto the challenge for BG otherwise I'd be in real trouble!!
Anyway, deep breath and carry on for now.  We have a new challenge starting today at Basic Grey Challenges after our Christmas break and we want to see Something New in your stash that you may have got for a present or a bargain in the sale, or just because you felt you deserved it!  I fall mostly into the latter category!!
My image is a gorgeous new one from Mo's Digital Pencil called Chubby Valentine - I'm sure I was the inspiration!!  Can you see what I thought were her red bloomers - should have been the tops of her chubby legs, but I think the bloomer version works!
My papers were a treat to me - the new Lucille collection from Basic Grey - they are yummy!  The card and image were cut on my new Big Shot that I got for Christmas from hubby - love it!  And there's one or two of the new Flexmarker colours in there,  particularly on the heart - Chilli Rooster and Molten Red  to name two.
We're thrilled at BG Challenges that the fabulous Simon Says Stamp are going to continue to be our sole sponsors for 2013 - thanks guys.  Which of course means that you could be the winner of a fabulous $25 dollar voucher to spend in their online store.

My teamies have made some gorgeous cards to share with you - take a peek here.  I'm hoping to go shopping for a new laptop this weekend, back allowing.  It's still causing me to walk like an old lady and can't stand up for long but it's slowly easing - thanks for all your well wishes.  Also off to celebrate my baby's 18th birthday yesterday.  Out for a family meal on Saturday night - I can't believe Emily's 18 - all my babies grown up and ready to leave the nest haha!  Doesn't look like any chance of that happening!!

Enjoy your weekend and if you don't hear from me - it's because my  world has come to an end without my trusty lappy!!

Peach and Blue at Passion For Promarkers

Oops - forgot to post this up this morning - I've been distracted by my sore back - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!  Definitely on the mend now, thanks to strong Ibuprofen and walking around like a little old lady!!
Anyhoo, our challenge this week at Passion for Promarkers has a colour theme of Peach and Blue as chosen by our fabulous Shelly.  These aren't usually my colours but fortuitously, these new Basic Grey papers, Lucille, arrived on my doormat and fitted the theme perfectly!!
I've used this gorgeously cute Lili of the Valley image along with the LOTV sentiment stamp.  The big flower is one that I made ages ago and suited the colour scheme, and the floral border is a Martha Stewart punch.

Our sponsor for this challenge is also Lili of the Valley and the lucky winner could receive a fabulous £10 voucher to spend in the store. (I've got my eye on one or two items!!)

Look forward to you playing along with us this week - you can check out the rest of Team 1's beautiful makes here, if you'd like some fabulous inspiration!

Greetings from Middle Earth and a bad back!

Have you seen The Hobbit yet?  Martin Freeman was an inspired choice for Bilbo Baggins, and I loved it, all the more because Richard Armitage was Thorin, one of the Dwarfs - never thought I would fancy a dwarf after Viggio Mortensen as Aragorn!.  And to top it off, Aiden Turner of Being Human was another dwarf - my cup runneth over!!  It also set my thoughts to thinking of Mo's Dwarf images  and how perfect they would be for Hobbit related cards at the minute - I've used Dwarf 4 for my card, teamed him with some Memory Box Blackbird Papers, a few of these fabulous cogs which were a Christmas present from best matey, Lesley ,and then a Dymo sentiment.

The card was for my nephew-in-law, so difficult to make a man card,so I hoped he liked!

I am feeling proper fed-up today - I've got a weak spot in my back, which for years hasn't caused me any problems and the last couple of days has just got worse and worse. Can't stand up or sit down easily but it has got me out of making dinner tonight so every cloud....!
Hope you've all had a good weekend, whatever you've been up to!
