Double DT day for Basic Grey and CES Challenges

Morning - I have two cards to show and tell today.  One for Basic Grey Challenges, which is an Easter themed card and which you will find a little further down in this post.

First though it's my card for this week's challenge at CES Challenges with a Theme of No Girls Allowed!  Very fortuitous for me as I needed one of those dreaded male teen cards for my nephew who was 15 this week!
I've used this brilliant image from Mo Manning, Video Boy - just click on the link to take you to Mo's
I've coloured him with my Pro and Flex Markers and layered him up onto the gorgeous new MME Miss Caroline papers - this set is called Dilly Dally  - I love the weathered wood pages that come in these sets..  These can be found at Crafty Emma's store here.
There's a layer in there too embossed with a metal plate embossing folder and then sanded back but I proceeded to cover it up with the Happy Birthday sentiment (Inkadinkadoo).  A few screwhead brads, some card candy, and  distressing to round of the grungy, boy feel and I was done.

The prize, as always, over at Crafty Emma's is a yummy £10 voucher to spend in her online store.

However, you may want to pop over there this weekend, as Emma is having a flash sale of 25% off everything (well, almost), until Sunday evening - go on, scoot on over there!!
Gorgeous boy-themed cards by the rest of the CES DT team -pop on over here to get some inspiration!

My next card is for our new challenge at Basic Grey Challenges and we have an Easter theme for you.

I've not used a Lili of the Valley image for ages, and so used this so far un-inked image of this gorgeous little bunny image which works so well for Easter cards!!
My papers are from the Basic Grey 6x6 pad, Euphoria - such pretty papers!! The corner punch is from Whiff of Joy, the letters from stash and the organza rose trim from the Hobby House!
Just ordered some more of the rose trim in loads of different colours from Wild Orchid Crafts too!!

This fortnight's challenge at Basic Grey Challenges is being sponsored by our regular challenge sponsers, Simon Says Stamp, with a $25 dollar spend-up in their online store up for grabs!!
Simon Says Stamp $25 Credit Voucher

I'm entering my LOTV card into the new challenges over at Lil's Little Fairies that has an Anything Goes challenge and at Sweet Stampin the theme is Spring or Easter.
Have a fab weekend!

Colour Create - Deep Purple, Bright Green and Cream

Hello blog friends!  We have a new challenge for you today over at Colour Create with a colour inspiration pic chosen by me and the colours to use are
Deep Purple, Bright Green and Cream.  The optional extra is to use bows.

Now, you'd think, wouldn't you, that having chosen the colours myself, I'd remember to use all three I'd chosen!   Well from my card  pictures you might realise that it's rather light on the old cream element because, well basically, I forgot!!

The image is another awesome purchase from Crafts and Me   - Belladona by Janna Prosvirina - just gorgeousness personnified!!
I used a fleur de lys nestie and another Cheery Lynn on top to extend the leaf and greenery theme from the image, and made the stepper card using the free scoring board that came with April's Papercraft Inspiration magazine ( that just happens to have a card of mine in!!)
You can just see a little bit of cream on the ribbon here - phew, can I get away with it?She's coloured with Pro and Flexmarkers with some glamour dust on her wings. The sentiment came from the same pad as the papers which are really old stash from Deja Views.

The prize up for offer at Colour Create is a guest design spot for two challenges with us on the DT  - would so love to have you join us.  If you like to play along but need some more inspiration take a look here at the gorgeous makes by the rest of the Colour Create DT!!

I'm also entering my card into the current challenge at Crafts and Me Challenges which happens to be Elegant Fairies!!

That's all from me for today!!

Spring is in the Air - it certainly is at Whiff of Joy

Morning all,  yes at Whiff of Joy Challenges,  we're celebrating the good weather (well, here in the UK at any rate) and have  a theme for you of Spring is in the air.  I've used this beautiful WOJ girlie and doubled it up with the cute WOJ tree by masking off the main image.
She certainly does look like she's fall of the joys of Spring!  I've coloured her with my Pro and Flexmarkers

I was at best matey, Lesley's on Saturday and started making this there, so borrowed her Pansy punch around the page set by Martha Stewart which frames the image nicely. I also used that WOJ corner punch again, and a new Tim Holtz edger Butterfly Die - love it! The little post card is Lili of the Valley, papers are DCWV Garden Party  - and I cut the coloured butterfly at the top out of one of the pages.   The green flower and cheesecloth is from America (thanks to best matey!!) and the little yellow pearl brad is also from WOJ.  Oh and the sentiment came with a Krafting Kimmie image!
This fortnight's challenge is being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp who have a lovely $25 voucher to hand over to one lucky winner!

The usual awesomeness from the rest of the WOJ challenge team can be found here if you'd like to take a peek.  AND don't forget to use a Whiff of Joy image on your card if you're playing along with us!!
As usual I'm lagging behind in commenting this week - such a busy week for me, both at work and home - I am so sorry!!  Will try and catch up with you soon - I'm sure I'm missing out on some beautiful makes!!

New Sketch at Sketch N Stash

Wasn't it a fabulous weekend , so much sunshine. Sadly, its now Monday and so back to work for me today but first here's my card for the new challenge at Sketch N Stash.  Not really happy with this at all - I decided to merge three of Mo's Digital Pencil images for a new home card and this is the result. I love the images separately- Kansas, Tall Houses and Witch of the West and the recipient loves the Wizard of Oz so hopefully she will still like my New Home Card for her.   To me it looks bitty as there's no one focal point on the card and I've had to distort the sketch in the end andso  my image panel is too big!! Still, hopefully, you can see the sketch is there.
Lots of punching on this one including a punch round the page set from Martha Stewart, and a tree and flower border die from Memory box.  My papers are from K & CO which I have had for a long time, while the fabric roses are newer from The Hobby House.  The sentiment is Cat's Life Press,
This fortnight's challenge is being sponsored by My Mum's Craft Shop ( I love that name!) and you could win a fab £10 voucher to spend in the store.

The SNS team have made some wonderful cards to inspire you further if you'd like to check them out here.  Don't forget, when playing along to tell us what's your new and what's your neglected stash items in your make!  Have fun!

CES Challenges - we have a photo inspiration for you!

Look at this gorgeou pic chosen by our Sheena to inspire you this week for the new challenge at CES Challenges - isn't it just too gorgeous!

It seems made for the gorgeous Saturated Canary Digi which I've coloured for the first time.
My papers are just so gorgeous too - a new Prima set called Meadow Lark, and honestly the papers are just sooooo pretty and I do love pretty!!  Oh no, and I've just checked and Emma is out of stock at the minute!!  (Lots of other gorgeous papers though so go and check them out here.) I've also used some acrylic gems, cherry blossom flowers, a ribbon slider, card bland and Flex Markers from Crafty Emma's Store.

I've also used a Tim Holtz on the edge Doily die , some cheese cloth and other flowers from stash.  As always Emma is giving a £10 voucher to one lucky winner to spend in her store, so hope you will play along!
There's more gorgeousness from the CES girlies for you to check out here.

I'm off for a play date today with best matey, Lesley.  It looks like the sun will be shining here, hope it is where you are too!!

My card in this month's Papercraft Inspirations!!

Back in January the Passion for Promarkers team girls were asked if we could make some cards to support an article about colouring with Promarkers for Papercraft Inspirations magazine!!  Well, the article has now appeared in April's edition and this is my card! My first ever one in print!!!

Sadly, they mucked up the credits and have put my blog details against my teamie, Denise's card and vice versa!!  Still at least my name is against the biggest card on the page ( and the boss of PFP!!)
You can see all the fabulous cards made by the rest of the girls below!

For my card, I used one of my all time fave images from Mo Manning, The Tramp which you can find by clicking on the link.  My idea was to show the way you can create a sepia/monochrome image by using a one colour way and I'd also said this in my blurb which they didn't use!!
I used Graphic 45  Curtain Call papers to complement The Tramp and also punched all round the page with a Stampin Up journal Punch as I thougth it mirrored the film strip punched with a Tim Holtz die.

I also used a Vintage Frame stamp, I think it's a Hero Arts Cling stamp to get the old, frame effect.

Well that's my fifteen minutes seconds of fame!!!  Don't all crowd me for autographs!!

Eeeek - Colouring on Kraft!!

Morning and a happy Saturday to you!  I've been so busy this week, with work and then stuff in the evening that I've not been around much - I'm going to make up for it this weekend!!
My card today is for new challenges at both CES Challenges - Kolouring on Kraft - and Basic Grey Challenges - Mother's Day/Something Girlie.  Well girlie I can do, but colouring on Kraft - goodness it gave me hot flushes just thinking about it ( and I have enough of those on  a daily basis, thanks very much!).  Still, that's why they call these things Challenges so I had a go and here is my first ever card, and do you know, I'm quite pleased!  Just goes to show, that you should give these things a try!

I've used a beautiful new stamp from Crafts and Me, ( got me a few recently!!) and have coloured her with my Pro and Flexmarkers.  My papers are Basic Grey, Indie Bloom - don't think I need to use too much pattern as the image is glorious all by herself!  Crafty Emma's Store stocks these papers, along with some of the flowers, the Cat's Life Press Sentiment. the little wooden, patterned button, black pearl (on the sentiment) and the card blank!

I've used that new favourite corner punch again and also a Martha Stewart border loop punch which I then proceeded to cover most of it up with my image and sentiment! The organza ribbon is from my stash and looks lovely in real life, but seems to look more like a shadow in my pic!

Hope you can join in either or both of the challenges.  At CES Challenges, Emma is giving one lucky winner a £10 voucher to spend in her store , and funnily enough the lovely postie has just dropped off two gorgeous new Prima pads from Emma's - Meadow Lark and Nature Garden - yum!

You can see them here along with all the other new papers and goodies Emma has in store

At Basic Grey, we're being sponsorsed by our regular fortnightly sponsor, the marvellous Simon Says Stamp, who have their usual fantastic offering of a $25 dollar voucher to spend in their online store.

Simon Says Stamp $25 Credit Voucher

Of course, both teams have made some gorgeous makes for the challenges - you can check out the CES Challenge girls' here and the Basic Grey girls here - fabulous stuff!!
I'm also entering my card into the Crafts and Me challenge which asks for  Circles somewhere on your card.

Off to get dressed now - catch you later!
