More blog candy - wow!!

Check out this blog candy - you will want to win it. Debbie is giving this away and it is fabulous.

Blog Candy!

Well firstly Debbie at Pink Petticoat is offering an amazing bit of kit - The Slice. Just link your Pink Petticoat cards to her blog and you're in with a shot!!

One last thing to show you - Fork Handles!!!

My little homage to the Two Ronnies!! Actually, it's only a couple of candles!

Goodies from the lovely Alex!

As you can see, I've been catching up with my picture taking and one thing I really wanted to show you were the fab makes from Alex when we had a get together at her bouse a few weeks ago now. She made this lovely calendar, candle and the bag they came in, as well as some stamped images in a little wallet. She is amazing, take a look. The photo of the three things isn't great but my batteries were playing up! Finally, the top card is one that Alex had made, and it accidentally found its way into my craft bags when we were packing up!! I told her she should do a bag search before we left, she had so much wonderful stash!!

Christmas is Coming!!!

In case you didn't know!! I've been beavering away with the old Christmas Cards but barely seem to be making a dent in the number I need to get done! My hubbie, Nick, says I've got no- one to blame but myself but when I said perhaps I'll buy some, he said don't you dare!!! Any way here's few that I've been working on:

I love Bloggers and Crafty ones are the Best!!

Two lovely people, my Cyber Sis Laura, and Michelle have awarded me an award as below:

It's especially nice as the sentiment behind it is about friendship, which is something that Crafting people are especially good at, in my opinion! The explanation is here:

This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind blogger's aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight blogger's who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award. What a wonderful sentiment and an elegant award.

I'm going to award it to Alex, Kathleen, Katy, Tara, Gina G, Mina, Caroline and Chrissie - all crafty friends, I'd like to think!

Something that I started making at Alex's

Started making this calendar during our craft day at Alex's last weekend (where has the week gone!) Used Cosmo Cricket paper for the background, and used stamps that I purchased at the Glitter Pot that very morning! The month and calander stamps are Hero Arts while there's no mistaking the lovely Tilda (thanks Alex!) Used Antique Paper Distress inks on the edges - and guess what - flowers again!

Penny Black Cat in a Bra

For my animal- mad sister's birthday at the end of the month. Received the image from a friend, and although I'm not normally a cutie card person, I do love this Penny Black image! Coloured with whispers, then matted a layered up using some K & Co and Basic Grey papers. Embossed the edge of the pink strip using a folder from one of the cuttlebug sets. And of course, flowers - I'm a sucker for flowers!

Talking of sisters, my Cyber Sister, Laura has given me an award - and I'm so pleased as I love the colours of it!! Not only that it goes with the colour scheme of my real sister's card - think that's called serendipity!! Joking aside, I am so thrilled to be passed this award - thanks Laura.

Now I need to think of 5 people to pass it on to and there are so many I could choose. I'm going to go away and think about it for a wee while!

I'm back! And here are the 5, although I could easily send it to all the bloggers that I love dropping in on. Anyway, the five I'm awarding it on to are Vicky, Mina, Sarita,Caroline and Natalie.

Go on take a look, you know you want to!!

Book Crazy

These are the books I made for Alex, Kathleen and Sarah when we had our get together yesterday. They're full of pretty K and Co papers that can be torn out and used as desired. A little tip for you all, my husband picked up a box of mountboard from outside an art shop so you might be lucky too!!

My first Tagging!

...by a great blogger, and now, I hope, a new friend who I met for the first time yesterday - Kathleen - yaaaaayyhhyyyy!

It's a nice way to find out a bit about your favourite bloggers, so these are the rules. You have to link to the person who tagged you and list the rules on your blog.

Then answer the five questions and tag five people. Add links to their blogs, and let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Things I Love
1. Cold, crisp and sunny winter days
2. Chocolate - perhaps I should have listed that first!
3. My wonderful but sometimes exasperating children ( and my hubby of course!)
4. Craft wise, I'm a sucker for pretty papers.
5. A really good, all engrossing book.

Things I Hate
1. Rudeness
2. Housework
3. Being patronised.
4. The rain - it makes my hair frizzy!
5. Peanut butter

Music on iPod or Playlist(Don't have either but this is what I'm listening to in the car)
1. Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
2. Kings of Leon - Only by the Night
3. Abba - Gold
4. Jeff Buckley - Grace
5. Gabriella Cilmi - Lessons to be Learned

Fav Foods/Drinks
1. Chocolate
2. G and T
3. Roast Chicken with Bread Sauce
4. Cake
5. Cappucino

Now I need to think about who to forward it on to - well, definitely my cyber sis, Laura, and also Tabatha, Sarita, Chrissie,Juliet

Just off now to let them know and have a look at their latest creations while I'm there! I might be gone awhile!

Been a Bad Blogger!

Well, still not managing to post as often as I'd like! Still got a few things to update you with, firstly a lovely day yeseterday with Alex, Kathleen and Kosmik. We met up at the Glitter Pot where Michelle Saxon was giving a demo of the Bind- it- All. I just loved this and she had some great ideas, as well as hints and tips so watch this space. It was then back to Alex's house for lunch and a wonderful crafty afternoon. Alex gave us another demo of her Copic skills, and then we did some book making and I started to make a calendar for 2009. What more could a girl ask!?

Home Tweet Home - Pink Petticoat

I love this image from Pink Petticoat . Matted and layered onto various papers from stash. I used Whisper pens to watercolour then added the ribbon threaded through Prima Flowers at the side. I do rather like this effect.

I also love the brown lace adhesive border at the bottom by Rico Designs.

Please let me know what you think!!

Thanks for looking

Tilda Challenge Card

I made this card for the weekly Tilda challenge over on DC. The brief was we had to use red and love in the theme and include some hearts! Coloured Tilda with watercolour pencils, and then matted and layered with paper from stash.

Used faux stitching/doodling round the edges and added some great coloured string from Ikea! Wasn't sure about the love stamp directly onto the card but did it and decided I liked it!

Finished off with a punched flower using the same papers, held with a brad and a rub-on heart, and some little white buttons in the other corner.

Vintage Fashion

I just love these vintage stamps! I used paper piecing for this one which always looks so effective I think! Made for one of my "M & S" friends who I used to work with, pre-children! Aahh, happy days working at Baker Street in their head office! Actually, I was probably wearing a very similar outfit all those years ago! (Well, almost!).

I Love You Blog award

Can't believe I have another!! This is from my Cyber Sis, Laura, (Faerielore). I can accept only if I name 6 other bloggers who I like to visit! Accepted with thanks and so hard to name only 6 as there are some amazing bloggers out there! Awards

Well, still not living up to my promise of keeping the cobwebs away am I! Especially as I've been honoured to receive the Wylde Women award from both Kathleen(Kookaburra crafts) and now Alex (Eisbaerin), pals from DC, to spur me on!
Its purpose is to send love to and acknowledge women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with generosity and joy - I'd award it back to Alex and Kathleen if they didn't have it already! Anyway, it does have rules attached which are:
1. You can give it to one or one hundred or any number in between
2.Make sure you link to their site
3. Link back to Tammy at http://www.tammyvitale.com/ so she can visit all these great women
4. Remember the purpose of the award
So, I'm going to award it to a couple of lovely ladies whom I have met through DC (again!) and who, like me are recent converts to blog land! They are both lovely, generous people and I'm glad to have got to know them:
Take a look at their blogs, they have some beautiful cards.

I'm having a Spring clean!!!

Haven't posted since I first started up the blog and so I'm sweeping away the cobwebs and starting up again!! Also inspired by the fact that 2 of my favourite card makers from DC have sent me an award!! ( The same one but I'm thrilled!) I just need to work out how to show it on here. Meanwhile I thought I'd show you a card for a challenge on DC. I set the theme this week - wanted it to be Shabby Chic/distressed and to use something not normally in your card stash! I used brown parcel paper, a couple of picture framing hinges and hooks and a gold disc that I have no idea what it is!! Felt that Edwin looked a little like a child being sent to the country during the war so added a little label round his neck as they used to do then! Images were from Eisbaerin ( Alex) - thanks!!!

Tilda Challenge

Finally for today, this is for the weekly Tilda challenge on DC. Had to use components beginning with T-I-L-D-A so here goes:

T - Turquoise, Thread, Titian Tresses(!), Thank You

I- Inked edges and Inked lace (to make it lilac)

L - Lilac, Lace

D - Die-cut flowers, rain Drops, Diamante

A- Floral Accent.

This wallet card is for another DC friend which I'm filling with Kerry Jo, Stamping Bella and some Tilda images. I used the Sultry range of papers from Basic Grey on this card - I love this range and the colours. Eloise Greengrass ( as the image is called - isn't the name great) is coloured with Prisma pencils.

Sunday 10th August

Spent the day making cards because I have to go back to work tomorrow after two weeks off! Two are for image swaps with two friends from DC and one was for the Tilda challenge on there.

Made this with a new stamp that I bought this week and coloured with watercolour pencils. Think the paper was a range from Chloe's Closet, bought as part of a big box at the Stitch and Craft Show at Olympia earlier this year. Love pink and brown together. Contains images for a friend on DC. And I've just discovered that I can put Cuttlebug embossing folders through my Quickcutz Revolution so I'm very happy! I have to pad it slightly with some cardboard but the embossing is perfect!

Card for my Bro- in - Law

Made this for my brother- in-law who lives in the Lake District and is in the process of renovating an old barn to make it into a family house. When we visited recently, he was busy building a dry-stone wall while the builders were busy on the inside of the barn! So sent this to him as a reminder of his hard work! (Much of the card is down to a lovely Do Crafts friend, Alexandra - she sent me Hamish in an image swap and I copied the wall from a card she had made - thanks Alex!!)

My First Time - August 7th 2008!

Wow, my very first post on my blog! It's so exciting. Hello everyone and welcome to my little corner of the blogging world! Now I'm here, I'm lost for words so think I'll just show you a few of my recent cards to get the ball rolling.
